“I was making portages on these unnamed lakes this morning, when I saw a band of about 25 caribou… They’re a very curious animal. They got quite close… They just cannot figure out what I am.” – Will Steger, April 20, 2018

Will, I check on you daily. Really fantastic stuff. I think I figured out what the dune like areas you are currently passing thru are, ancient caribou trails. You probably can’t see them because of snow cover. They are very linear and roughly run E/W. They are very visible on these summer aerial photos. Coupled with your recent sitings and numerous trails near your current location it makes sense. Any thoughts?
