“I heard a crazy noise. When you’re traveling up here like this, you go weeks at a time without hearing anything at all except for the wind. But it turned out to be ravens. They were actually making notice of the airplane coming.” – Will Steger, April 21, 2018. Resupply #1. Day 33.

Hi Will. I listen to your recordings every night before bed as a way that I wind down from my day. Today I went to French Meadow bakery here in Minneapolis for lunch w some friends. When ordering lunch they would normally give you a number to post at your table for the server to find you and deliver your food… instead French Meadow has pictures of popular people such as Prince. Well the one I got was a picture of you! It gave me the opportunity to tell my friends about your current expedition and your wilderness center. Thanks for the dialy run downs. Glad you had a good visit w your friend. Over and out! Mary Ann Johnson.

My first day following your journey. Makes me think of the difficulties and challenges that you must be facing while travelling alone through that region of the north. You are in the area that has been travelled by earlier expeditions such as the Tyrrell brothers. A huge difference is that they were supported by crew members and equipment as well as provisions. Best of luck, be careful and take care of yourself. I really like the inter-active map you are using. I would dearly love to see your photos.

Will it is earth day, I am standing next to a giant red wood in California’s red wood forest. I feel as though I am an ant, I am nothing. I immediately thought of you in the barrens making your way across the earth. No roads no wires no freeways, funny they call it a freeway there is nothing free about it. Good earth day to you my fellow human.
